Jury Finds Zimmerman Not Guilty: Your Thoughts?

Share your opinions in the comments section.

Over the weekend, one of the year's most watched trials came to an end. A six-person, all female jury, after deliberating for 16 hours and 20 minutes, found George Zimmerman not guilty.

Though the death in question and the case itself occurred in Florida, people all over the country followed it closely and had opinions about the State of Florida v. George Zimmerman.

Here, demonstrators gathered in South Los Angeles Saturday and Sunday in protest of Zimmerman's acquittal. Others took to the Internet instead of the street to show their support or disapproval of the verdict.

Following are some of the thoughts and opinions locals shared online, but we want to know what YOU think. Do you agree with the outcome? Was race an issue in the case? Add your own opinion in the comments section and photos, if you have them, on the boards.

Here are some of the local reactions:

Keb Doak: As a white male I have a duty just as much, if not more, to be active in the movement for racial equality than an African American.

SamValley: Al Sharpton keeps saying that Trayvon Martin didn't do anything wrong; apparently assault and battery isn't a crime.

Iggy: Trayvon was a punk who resorted to violence with the wrong guy. That's it. Race was no issue.

Davis Amyot: For all you treyvon/Zimmerman people out there, the media turned this into a case about race and there was reasonable doubt.

Sam Vizberry: There is a riot on the 10 freeway becauae of the Zimmerman Trial. Grow up America and honestly get over it. What's done is done.

Occupy Venice Beach: No justice, No peace.

Darryl Stephens: Well, now we know beyond the shadow of any doubt there is no justice. Please let the Martin family find peace.
