'The Simpson's' Nancy Cartwright Slated to Host Boys & Girls Club Fundraiser

The Mile of Quarters event will take place at the Westfield Topanga mall Saturday.

Bart Simpson won't be at the West Valley Boys & Girls Club's annual Mile of Quarters fundraiser Saturday, but his voice will be. Nancy Cartwright, who provides the voice for the cartoon character, will preside as master of ceremonies.

During the event, the club will collect quarters and line them up to create a trail stretching through the Westfield Topanga mall. Money from the benefit will help fund programs for needy youths. At $3.25 per foot, if they can make an entire mile out of the quarters, supporters will have raised $17,160.

The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will also feature magic shows at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. as well as a deejay, face painting and other entertainment throughout the day on the lower level of the the mall near Sears and the Disney Store.
