Heartbreak House: presents Heartbreak House: A Fantasia in the Russian Manner on English Themes by George Bernard Shaw through Sept. 30. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday as well as Sept. 22 and 29. Tickets for adults are $20-$33. Tickets for children 5-11 are $10 and children younger than 5 are admitted for free. Francophone Film Festival: Cal Lutheran University is hosting a series of free screenings beginning with Les Femmes de sixiéme étage (The Women on the Sixth Floor) at 7 p.m. Friday. Screenings will take place in the Preus-Brandt Forum at the school at 60 W. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.
Nature Hike: Meet the dusky-footed woodrat on his own turf on the at 3 p.m. Saturday at King Gillette Ranch, 26800 Mullholland Highway, Calabasas. The free, one-mile walk lasts about two hours. Meet at the parking lot to the left of the pond.
Tribal Gathering: The fifth annual tribal gathering at Thousand Oak's Chumash Indian Museum takes place from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The open-to-the-public event will feature music, storytellers, arts, crafts and food for purchase. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for senions and children or $10 per family (limit five family members). The museum is at 3290 Lang Ranch Blvd., Thousand Oaks.
Paula Poundstone: The featuring Paula Poundstone benefits TreePeople. The event takes place at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the S. Mark Taper Foundation Ampitheatre in Coldwater Canyon Park, 12601 Mulholland Drive, Beverly Hills. Tickets are $25 general admission.
