Woodland Hills' 5 Things to Know Today: Sept. 7

Here's what's happening in and around Woodland Hills at-a-glance.

  1. Sen. Fran Pavley hosts a free senior scam stopper seminar over in Tarzana this morning. Learn about legislation and types of scams that are targeting seniors and how to avoid falling prey to them! The seminar will feature experts from governmental agencies who will present on topics including home improvement projects, identity theft, auto repair and investments. It takes place at 9 a.m. at Providence Tarzana Medical Center, 18321 Clark St., Tarzana.
  2. Come out tonight and support Woodland Hills' high schools. The El Camino Conquistadors football team takes on Roosevelt High and the Taft Toreadors play against Notre Dame High School. Both games begin at 7 p.m. and will be played on our home fields.
  3. Next door in Calabasas, the Old Town Farmers Market takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 23504 Calabasas Road.
  4. According to the National Weather Service, today's high will be around 95 degrees with a low of 63 degrees.
  5. The lowest price of gas in Woodland Hills, according to GasBuddy.com, is $4.03 per gallon at the Arco stations at 6310 Fallbrook Ave. and 22004 Clarendon St. and the Thrifty station at 6000 N. Canoga Ave.
