Vegas in the Valley: Good Things in the Cards for Pets

On Saturday, August 9, 2014, cats and
dogs in need of forever homes will be the ultimate winners at the Petopia
Animal Rescue Adoption Center’s casino night to benefit homeless animals. The
excitement rolls out at the Hilton Hotel Woodland Hills, with Los
Angeles magazine as the headlining sponsor.

Debbie Regal and Yvette Berke, the
ladies behind Petopia, the multi-rescue adoption center in Woodland Hills, are
transforming the local Hilton Hotel into a dazzling slice of the Las Vegas
Strip. Their wager of choice? They’re betting on bringing good luck to dogs and
cats in search of a forever home. During their fabulous Vegas in the Valley fundraiser, guests will
play all of their favorite games of chance, including Texas hold’em, blackjack
and roulette to help raise funds for this important cause.

The evening
also includes a raffle with incredible prizes, and a live auction that includes
a Sanctuary Retreats Nile cruise, courtesy of
Abercrombie & Kent
, valued at over $4,500. There will also be a
silent auction to place your bids, and an array of enticing food bars. Of
course, you cannot have an authentic Vegas experience without live
entertainment. Filling that role are LA-based pop-soul artists David & Devine who have toured
with top artists such as Lady Antebellum, Jason Mraz, Macy Gray and Christina
Aguilera. Guests will, of course, also meet the VIP guests of honor—adoptable

and adorable animals.

Petopia is a nonprofit multi-rescue
adoption facility located in the Westfield Promenade Mall in Woodland Hills on
Topanga Canyon Boulevard made up of four local animal rescue groups (Valley
Cats, Southern California Pomeranian Rescue, Precious Paws and LA Animal
Rescue). The one-stop shop not only stocks essential pet supplies but adoptable
rescued dogs and cats who are in need of a forever home where they can enjoy
their new friends, new toys and other goodies.

What do shoppers who adopt
get in return? Endless amounts of unconditional love. What do “gamblers”
hitting Vegas in the Valley get in return for their donations and buy-ins? Knowing
their dollars will help save the lives of deserving cats and dogs.  In other words, it’s a win for
everybody.
