Neighborhood Council Election March 16

Dear WANA members and Walnut Acres neighbors, Please come out to vote in the Neighborhood Council election TODAY, Sunday, March 16th, from noon to 6 pm at the Topanga Mall. The election will occur in the part of the mall known as The Canyon, near the new CPK location. It is suggested that you park in the Owensmouth structure. As you know, Walnut Acres was poorly served by the Neighborhood Council when it considered the issue of the massive, commercial eldercare facility proposed for our neighborhood. We cannot let this situation happen again. We must elect council representatives who are ready and able to take an active role in protecting Walnut Acres. Five WANA members are running for seats on the Neighborhood Council in Areas 3 and 4: Nancy McLean (area 3 residential rep), Bill Anderson (area 3 organizational rep), Herb Madsen (area 3 business rep), Kelly Del Valle (area 4 organizational rep) and Marty Lipkin (area 4 residential rep). A full list of the candidates and more information about the election can be found at http://empowerla.org/whwcnc/woodland-hills-warner-center-nc-2014-election/. If you live east of Woodlake you are in area 3 and if you live west of Woodlake you are in area 4. Please take time TODAY to vote for Neighborhood Council representatives who will represent the interests of Walnut Acres. Turnout for these elections is often low and candidates can win or lose based on just a few votes. Your vote counts! WANA Board of Directors
