The nonprofit Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, a source of private support for the LAFD and its efforts in communities including Woodland Hills, has been awarded a $75,000 grant from Motorola Solutions' Public Safety and Security Institute, a department spokesman announced.
The Motorola Solutions Foundation is the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions Inc., LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey said Dec. 16.
The Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation plan to use the grant to support four Pacific Coast F.I.R.E. Academies for high school students to learn firefighting, emergency medical services and organizational leadership, Humphrey said.
Fire protection and prevention in the community of Woodlands Hills includes Los Angeles Fire Department Station 105 at 6345 Fallbrook Ave.
