Man in Stolen Escalade Leads Police on Chase to Woodland Hills

The unnamed suspect faces possible charges of assault with a deadly weapon, evading arrest and auto theft

Police today arrested a motorist who led them on a brief chase in a stolen Cadillac Escalade that ended in the Woodland Hills area.

The pursuit began at 12:27 p.m. when LAPD Topanga Station officers spotted the stolen SUV, said Richard French of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The chase ended about eight minutes later near Topanga Canyon Boulevard and the Ventura Freeway, French said.

An officer suffered a minor injury at the beginning of the pursuit -- how was not specified -- and the suspect faces possible charges of assault with a deadly weapon, evading arrest and auto theft, French said.

The suspect's name was not immediately released.
