Police Respond to Call of Armed Man in Woodland Hills

Call to 911 turns out to be false. Area around Saticoy Street and Topanga Canyon Boulevard was closed until 3 a.m. Friday.

Los Angeles Police officers responded to a call Thursday night of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 21800 block of Saticoy Street in Woodland Hills, but the call turned out to be false, authorities said Friday.

Lt. Scott Fairchild at LAPD's Topanga station said a man called 911 around 11 p.m. Thursday saying another man with a gun was having a dispute with a neighbor over a parking space.

The area around Saticoy Street and Topanga Canyon Boulevard was closed until 3 a.m. Friday while officers investigated. A woman who lives in the area emailed Patch that an LAPD helicopter kept watch over the neighborhood during the investigation.

Fairchild said the gun turned out to be a BB gun. No shots were fired, no one was hurt and no one has been arrested, he said, adding the incident is still under investigation.
