Transient Struck, Killed By Truck While Asleep

A transient was run over and killed Friday while apparently sleeping on a supermarket loading dock in Woodland Hills, police said.

The death was reported at 4:51 p.m. in the 19800 block of Ventura Boulevard, said Officer Gregory Baek of the Los Angeles Police Department.

"The transient was hit by a truck while sleeping," Baek said. "The truck drove over the victim."

The man, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests were made, but the investigation was ongoing, Baek said.
