The girls of West Valley Girls Softball 10U team had a great weekend.
Though the team lost its opening game, the girls won their next four games to take first place in the Westlake Agoura Girls Softball's Summer Slam tournament in Oak Park. The team outscored its opponents 24 to 7 and beat the WAGS host in the championship game.
The team next plays this weekend at its own tournament at Hughes Middle School in Woodland Hills.
Team members are Bailey Balzer, Annie Cory, Bella Echols, Camryn Estrada, Alexandra Gomez, Jamie Klinenberg, Taylor Learnihan, Grace Luderer, Angelique Muñoz, Isabella Paganini, Julia Vargas and Caitlyn Wall. Andrew Balzer manages the team and Ray Muñoz, Dan COry, Matthew Lederer and Mark Echols serve as coacher.
