Lawn and gardening services are expensive. Many of the workers use power tools, like chainsaws,…Read More etc., yet are not insured. They are also not legal residents. Think before you hire these people who charge a daily or weekly rate. You are not only setting yourself up for problems should something go wrong, but also your neighbors if an accident happens. I'm really surprised that LA does not require these businesses to have insurance and at very least car insurance for the vehicles they drive. They are often driving with expired plates. I had a first hand experience with a gardener who was cutting a neighbor's big tree and the stump rolled down the hill into my house. Had I not been home, I never would have know what took out my tankless water heater and did damage to my house because they were attempting to roll the stump away from the house. $8,000 damage which the homeowner who hired them had to pay out of her homeowner's policy because the gardener was not insured and was illegal. Let my experience be your warning.
