The Heat is Back for the Week

Temperatures could reach triple digits Tuesday.

Here we go again—the Valley, and —is heating up again this week.

The National Weather Service is predicting a high of 101 degrees in Woodland Hills on Tuesday with only a slight drop in temperature over the course of the week, when the highs will be in the upper 90s until Friday, when it's likely to be around 92 degrees.

The mini heat wave was enough to lead the Weather Service to issue a special weather statement explaining that a high pressure system to the east will expand this way and brin a hot air mass to Southern California.

"The only escape from the current heat wave will remain at the beaches . . . where daytime high temperatures will generally be in the 70s," it said.

The service recommends people planning to be outdoors Tuesday should practice heat safety tips and keep their bodies hydrated with plenty of water as well as avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
