Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Train NE of Woodland Hills Near San Fernando

The incident was reported at 12:56 a.m. Dec. 27, according to a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman.

A death investigation was under way early Thursday near San Fernando northeast of Woodland Hills, where a pedestrian was struck and fatally injured by a train, a Fire Department spokesman said.

The incident was reported at 12:56 a.m. Dec. 27 at 11341 N. San Fernando Rd., where tracks are shared by Union Pacific and Metrolink, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The unidentified victim was struck by a Union Pacific freight train, Humphrey said.

Los Angeles police and the Los Angeles County coroner were among the agencies investigating. The incident location was just north of the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway.
