Bike Ride to Tour Orange Line Route

By Arin Mikailian

If you haven't had the opportunity to check out new bike routes connecting Woodland Hills to other parts of the West Valley, a community bike rally planned for early next month could provide the opportunity.

A June 9 ride along the Orange Line bus route is being planned by the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council.

The Ride the Colt rally will complete a 19-mile loop, though participants are welcome to cycle as much of it as they'd like.

Showing off some of the new street pavement markings is one of the goals of the event, said board of directors members Matthew Weintraub.

"The main goal is first to introduce local cyclists to the relatively new infrastructure the city has created for cyclists in the valley," he said.

The bike rally is free and complimentary snacks and even some bicycle repairs will be available. There will also be a free raffle.

Meetup is at 9 a.m. at the Chatsworth Train Depot Parking Lot A, 10040 Old Depot Plaza Road.
